Theophilus Chin’s “Waja 2″ rendering, a Waja/Perdana replacement model – what could happen if Proton pulled a SEAT and rebadged an Audi A4.
Proton managing director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir revealed a few details on what’s coming up on Proton’s roadmap in the future. The following is a quick summary of what’s hopefully going to happen if everything goes well:
- Proton is in discussions with shareholders on the issue of strategic collaborations with a partner that could complement Proton’s existing markets instead of competing directly against it. Collaboration include areas like technology, vehicle platforms, improve efficiency, etc.
- Next generation Waja and Perdana will be a partnership with other manufacturers. The Proton Waja replacement should be out by early 2010. It seems that Proton is working with one partner for the Waja project and a different one for the Perdana project.
- A decision to be made soon on a new engine family that will replace the Campro engine by 2014, preferably a collaboration with another company for better economies of scale.
- A small capacity diesel engine for passenger cars from either PSA Peugeot Citroen or Fiat. The 1.3 liter Fiat JTD turbodiesel engine seems to be cheap enough for the diesel-powered Tata Indica Vista Quadra Jet so it could be cheap enough for Proton. It is available in various states of tune. Tata uses the 75 PS version. This engine won the 2005 International Engine of the Year award for the 1.0 liter to 1.4 liter category.
- Evaluation and testing of hybrid and electric technology for cars.
- Consolidation of dealer network to continue. Optimum value is said to be 200 outlets, while the current number stands at just under 300.
- Proton MPV launch in March 2009, targets 50k-60k global combined annual sales.
- Proton will continue to monitor and be cautious about the China partnership with Youngman. Syed Zainal says Proton is looking at how they are performing and will not hesitate to make a move if there are obstacles. Proton could appoint another dealer if it feels it is necessary, but this remains to be decided until after the Persona is launched in China. Proton cars are sold in China by Youngman under the Europestar badge.

KEHEBATAN SUKHOI
LANGKAWI: Jarak masa kurang dua saat menyelamatkan nyawa seorang kanak-kanak berusia setahun daripada menemui ajal atau setidak-tidaknya cedera parah apabila siling bilik tidur runtuh dipercayai berpunca daripada gegaran enjin pesawat Sukhoi SU-30 MKM, semalam.
Dalam kejadian kira-kria jam 2.40 petang itu, mangsa, Umirah Zulaikha Mohd Zaini, bernasib baik apabila dia segera dibawa keluar oleh ibu saudaranya dari bilik tidur apabila jet pejuang itu dilihat terbang rendah pada pertunjukan udara sempena Pameran Udara dan Maritim Antarabangsa Langkawi 2007 (Lima 2007).
Ibu saudara mangsa, Nor Zaliza Abdullah, 33, berkata sebelum kejadian dia mendapatkan Umirah Zulaikha yang sedang tidur seorang diri dalam bilik di rumah sewanya di Kampung Bohor Berendam, di sini.
"Saya berasa tidak sedap hati lalu membawa Umirah (Zulaikha) keluar dari bilik kerana bimbang berlaku kejadian buruk. Ini kerana pada pertunjukan pagi sudah ada gegaran kuat berpunca dari enjin pesawat itu.
"Sangkaan saya kali ini betul kerana sebaik jet pejuang itu melintas bumbung rumah, ia menghasilkan gegaran serta bunyi yang kuat menyebabkan siling rumah tiba-tiba runtuh di atas tilam tempat Umirah Zulaikha tidur," katanya ketika ditemui di tempat kejadian.
Nor Zaliza berkata, anak saudaranya itu baru tiba dari Pahang sejak tiga hari lalu bersama ibunya, Saayah Majid, 60, dan kakaknya yang juga ibu kepada Umirah Zulaikha, Norhayati Abdullah, 36, bagi menyaksikan Lima 2007.
"Saya bersyukur kerana sempat membawa keluar anak saudara dari bilik tidur ke tempat selamat walaupun agak panik dengan kejadian yang berlaku secara tiba-tiba itu," katanya yang juga kakitangan hotel, di sini.
Sementara itu, tinjauan mendapati lebih 10 rumah di kampung sama turut mengalami keretakan pada dinding, pecah cermin tingkap dan lampu siling jatuh dipercayai akibat gegaran kuat enjin jet berkuasa supersonik itu.

Kapal Selam Pertama Malaysia
Kapal selam pertama Malaysia, KD Tunku Abdul Rahman yang dinamakan sempena Perdana Menteri pertama, dilancarkan secara rasmi dengan penuh tradisi tentera laut di Limbungan DCNS, Cherbourg, baru-baru ini.
Majlis disempurnakan isteri Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor dengan memecahkan botol berisi air Surah Yasin ke kemudi kapal selam selepas lagu Negaraku dinyanyikan.
Datuk Seri Najib Razak berkata, nama Tunku Abdul Rahman dipilih bagi mengenang jasa dan sumbangannya memimpin negara menuntut kemerdekaan dan meletakkan asas kukuh sehingga mampu memiliki kapal selam selepas 50 tahun merdeka.
“Dalam tempoh 36 jam kita melakarkan dua kejayaan. Pertama apabila angkasawan pertama (Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Sheikh Mustapha) mendarat di bumi dan kini kapal selam pertama negara yang dirancang hampir 20 tahun lalu dirasmikan.
“Kapal selam ini mampu mengawal perairan negara dan memastikan kedaulatan serta keselamatan perairan sentiasa diberikan keutamaan, khususnya di Selat Melaka,” katanya pada majlis menamakan dan merasmikan kapal selam pertama di limbungan kapal DCNS, di sini.

Cara Nak Beli Motor...
Ramai di antara kita yang nak beli motor,tak kiralah motor baru atau yang second hand. Info permotoran pada kali ini ingin berkongsi tips mengenai beli motor second hand sebab ramai antara kita termasuklah saya sendiri rambang mata bila pergi menjengah ke kedai-kedai menjual motosikal.
Ha.. sebabnya kat sana motor second hand pun kalau sekali pandang macam motor baru juga.Logiknya salesman kat situ tidak akan `kondemkan` motosikal yang mereka nak jual tapi anda jangan terus percaya bulat-bulat sebaliknya buat dulu beberapa perkara.
1.Mula-mula periksa dulu casisnya adakah pada pandangan mata kita agak bengkok. Pergi ke bahagian depan,tegakkan motosikal seolah-olah sedang bergerak lurus. Bongkokkan badan anda dan lihat tayar depan dan belakang sejajar atau tidak? Begitu juga lakukan perkara yang sama pada bahagian belakang.Kalau tak sejajar ada kemungkinan casis bengkok. Mungkin motor tersebut pernah terlibat dengan kemalangan teruk.
2.Biarkan motosikal berdiri tegak dengan menggunakan tongkat tengah. Perhatikan pada batang fork, adakah terdapat kesan minyak kerana itu tandanya getah pengadang minyak tersebut telah rosak mungkin tak pernah ditukar oleh pemilik dahulu. Kemudian ada tak kesan calar pada batang fork, walaupun tiada kesan minyak tetapi kadang-kadang pekedai telah menukar pengadang getah yang baru. Ini selalu terjadi apabila kita menggunakan motor tu nanti pengadang minyak akan cepat rosak akibat daripada batang fork yang sudah tidak licin. Lambat laun minyak dari batang fork akan keluar… hati-hati..
3.Periksa swing arm dengan menggoyangkan kekiri dan kekanan dengan kuat. Caranya dengan memegang roda belakang dan goyangkan. Apabila terasa seperti sesuatu yang longgar bermakna bush swing arm tersebut telah haus. Ini berlaku ke atas diri saya sendiri apabila ‘koner’ terasa macam nak tergolek. Bila dah periksa baru tahu swing arm telah bergoyang.
4.Hidupkan dahulu enjin motosikal tersebut dengar alunan bunyinya. Ingat bukan bunyi motor yang kena dengar tetapi amati bunyi pada blok enjinnya. Adakah bunyinya agak kasar atau seperti benda longgar kerana ada kemungkinan rod dan bearingnya telah haus dan ini memerlukan belanja yang agak lebih setelah anda membelinya.
5.Kalau nak tahu motor tu ’sedap’ lagi atau tidak kena la tunggang. Cuba bawa kelajuan antara 100-110km/j kuat tak gegarannya. Kalau sederhana ok lagi tu mungkin balancing tayar dah tak cantik. Tapi kalau kuat sangat lebih baik lupakan, bukannya apa takut-takut membabitkan enjin je…. koyak poket nanti he..he…
6.Kebiasaannya kedai akan bagi waranti selama sebulan je lebih dari tu tanggung sendiri.Jadi dalam tempoh tu jangan takut-takut nak komplen pada pekedai.Biar kita buat-buat cerewet sikit kalau tak nanti dia putar belitkan anda nanti.Pastikan juga jangan buat sebarang pengubahsuaian terhadap motosikal anda dalam tempoh waranti kerana secara automatik waranti tersebut akan dimansuhkan oleh mereka.
7.Kalau boleh..tapi rasanya wajib membawa kawan yang tahu serba sedikit tentang teknikal motosikal sekiranya anda adalah penunggang baru. Tak semestinya bawa mekanik tapi lagi bagus kalau ada… kerana mereka yang sudah berpengalaman juga tahu serba sedikit mengenainya.
Tips yang saya beri ini sesuai untuk motosikal bawah 150cc kerana ianya datang dari pengalaman saya sendiri.. lebih dari itu mungkin juga boleh dijadikan panduan.

My comment:
I am very satisfied with the match although I feel worry if the result of the match will be draw. The match is so hard to be explain. At last of the match I think the Man U will the winner, but the opponent`s player that is Bellamy shot for the equalization goal. In the minute of 6 in the additional time, Owen become the saver to make sure Man U win the Match and I am very happy with that. I am never face this situation before that I scream goal!!!goal!!! very loud for this match. Haha

You all can see how is it looks like. This creature can dig hole in the ground using their long claw. In some case, they are found by human kill mouse, cook and eat it. Base on some source, this creature actually has kindly attitude. They very like to live in the surface of earth than in the ground. They are actually have strong muscle, we believe that they are strong and they are also bigger than human. What we are afraid of is when people and this creature have a war someday. But, let we have a pray to Allah so that will not happen for this time. For we that Islamic person, we have been teach about the Doom`s Day. So, I afraid that this creature is the creature that said in the Al-Quranulkarim as the Yakju` and Makju`. What is happen if is it true??? This world is so near to the Dooms Day....

ROTARY ENGINE
Rotary engines use the four-stroke combustion cycle, which is the same cycle that four-stroke piston engines use. But in a rotary engine, this is accomplished in a completely different way.
The heart of a rotary engine is the rotor. This is roughly the equivalent of the pistons in a piston engine. The rotor is mounted on a large circular lobe on the output shaft. This lobe is offset from the centerline of the shaft and acts like the crank handle on a winch, giving the rotor the leverage it needs to turn the output shaft. As the rotor orbits inside the housing, it pushes the lobe around in tight circles, turning three times for every one revolution of the rotor.
Intake
The intake phase of the cycle starts when the tip of the rotor passes the intake port. At the moment when the intake port is exposed to the chamber, the volume of that chamber is close to its minimum. As the rotor moves past the intake port, the volume of the chamber expands, drawing air/fuel mixture into the chamber.
When the peak of the rotor passes the intake port, that chamber is sealed off and compression begins.
Compression
As the rotor continues its motion around the housing, the volume of the chamber gets smaller and the air/fuel mixture gets compressed. By the time the face of the rotor has made it around to the spark plugs, the volume of the chamber is again close to its minimum. This is when combustion starts.
Combustion
Most rotary engines have two spark plugs. The combustion chamber is long, so the flame would spread too slowly if there were only one plug. When the spark plugs ignite the air/fuel mixture, pressure quickly builds, forcing the rotor to move.
The pressure of combustion forces the rotor to move in the direction that makes the chamber grow in volume. The combustion gases continue to expand, moving the rotor and creating power, until the peak of the rotor passes the exhaust port.
Exhaust
Once the peak of the rotor passes the exhaust port, the high-pressure combustion gases are free to flow out the exhaust. As the rotor continues to move, the chamber starts to contract, forcing the remaining exhaust out of the port. By the time the volume of the chamber is nearing its minimum, the peak of the rotor passes the intake port and the whole cycle starts again.
The neat thing about the rotary engine is that each of the three faces of the rotor is always working on one part of the cycle -- in one complete revolution of the rotor, there will be three combustion strokes. But remember, the output shaft spins three times for every complete revolution of the rotor, which means that there is one combustion stroke for each revolution of the output shaft.
DOHC ENGINE
DOHC or Double OverHead Cam - the setup used in many today's cars. Since it's possible to install multiple valves per cylinder and place intake valves on the opposite side from exhaust vales, DOHC engine can "breath" better meaning that it can produce more horsepowers with smaller engine volume. Compare: The 3.5-liter V6 DOHC engine of 2003 Nissan Pathfinder has 240 hp, similar to 245 hp of the 5.9-liter V8 OHV engine of 2003 Dodge Durango.
Pros: High efficiency, possible to install multiple valves per cylinder and adopt variable timing.
Cons: More complex and more expensive design.
OHC or SOHC ENGINE
OHC in general means OverHead Cam while SOHC means Single OverHead Cam.
In the SOHC engine the camshaft is installed in the cylinder head and valves are operated either by the rocker arms or directly through the lifters (as in the picture).
The advantage is that valves are operated almost directly by the camshaft - easy to achieve the perfect timing at high rpm. Also it's possible to install three or four valves per cylinder
The disadvantage - an OHC engine requires a timing belt or chain with related components - more complex and more expensive design.
OVER HEAD VALVE (OHV) ENGINE
OHV means OverHead Valve - an engine design where the camshaft is installed inside the engine block and valves are operated through lifters, pushrods and rocker arms (an OHV engine also known as "Pushrod" engine). Although an OHV design is a bit outdated, it has been successfully used for decades. An OHV engine is very simple, has more compact size and proven to be durable.
Downside: it's difficult to precisely control the valve timing at high rpm due to higher inertia caused by larger amount of valve train components (lifter-pushrod-rocker arm). Also it's very difficult to install more than 2 valves per cylinder or implement some latest technologies such as Variable Valve Timing - something that could be easily done in a DOHC engine.
